Hi, Carolyn & Frank! This will cover the website. As we discussed, I'd suggest building out a CMS (content management system) that is user friendly and will provide the opportunity to scale content.

Goals & objectives

Build a transaction based site (e-commerce) that showcases products, content, and what the company is all about. We will work together to make sure you all are comfortable with the backend of the site so you can adjust prices, fulfill orders, and provide discount codes.

Key Components of the Build

Content Management

  • Control of products - We want you to be able to have control of pricing, pictures, discounts, customer accounts, etc. without the need of web knowledge.
  • Have control over content, blogs, accounts, and more all within one back-end.

  • Micro-conversions are helpful for future email campaigns and re-targeting campaigns. I know there is a mailing list, but we can continue to build the email list by incorporating micro-conversions on the site.
  • We can offer a nuts guide or 1st time coupon in exchange for an email. We can automate this low-involvement conversion to push potential clients further down the funnel.
  • A micro-conversion could be simply signing up to be notified with updates for new products, deals, and content.

Other Notable Items

  • We can use a chat-bot to quickly direct our visitors (included in web costs)
  • I am able to incorporate this into the structure of the site using Facebook messenger. This will have exponentially higher engagement rates. It also looks like you already have a Facebook up and going. Since this is a grand re-opening I think it'd be smart to use your past efforts for the re-launch (email, facebook, etc.)
  • Automation will be used so your time is not tied up responding to site submissions, sending tracking numbers, etc.
  • In-Browser Editing - This means you will be able to edit text, content, dates, and more directly from your browser to publish changes in real-time.
  • Mobile-Responsiveness - We build 100% responsive to ensure the site is optimized on all devices (desktop, tablet, and phone)

Visual Hierarchy & Branding

  • I see there is a brand, but I would recommend a few things that could strengthen it.
  • In general, we would want more consistency and alignment. This can be done through a digital branding guide.

Part II - The Solution
The Solution

I'd suggest building out a website with a content management system. Developing a system will enable us to have a more dynamic site and provide the opportunity for a more lucrative strategy for advertising.

Content Management Systems (CMS)

CMS (Which stands for Content Management System) is typically used for enterprise content management and web content management. We can do this for each product that we offer. These systems include a back-end, meaning editors can edit without web knowledge to add/delete and edit text, images, and products on the site. As the operation scales so can the website.

Tracking For Strong Analytics To Improve ROI

Development Should Include the Following Integrations

The golden rule in business is if you can't measure it, you can't manage it. We want to build a site that enables us to know who is coming to our site, when they are coming to our site, and where they are coming from. MD's web development includes the following tracking tools to know how the website is performing.

Google Tag Manager, Analytics, & Social Pixels- Snippets of code to track valuable user data. This snippet of JavaScript collects demographics, performance data for the websites and ads, and other actionable data.

Google Optimize - Optimize shows us which site experiences engage our customers.

Full Story - Full Story is a tag that enables Google Tag Manager to capture visitors interactions with our website (Video Recording).

This is crucial in tracking user experience and advertising efforts.

Automation For Scalability & Growth

I recommend using a customer relationship management system (CRM), but we can also build an integration that is compatible with a spreadsheet. Hubspot is a great CRM if we don't have one established. When people inquire online or complete a micro-conversion (such as the coupon) all order activity will be automated. Once an order is placed we will want to automate order communications. This includes a "Thank you for your order" email, an email for tracking, and a delivery confirmation email. Once a customer is in our CRM we can automate these strategies. This is where we can use automation to save money, time, and resources.
